Practical Education for EMS and Public-Safety Partners
Foundations EMS Training develops education for EMTs, EMRs, first responders, EMS agencies, and public-safety partners. Courses are designed to move beyond passive review and help participants recognize problems earlier, explain decisions, perform essential skills deliberately, and communicate clearly under pressure.

This catalog is organized into three groups: Foundations EMS courses currently available for agency scheduling, standardized course offerings currently available through authorized delivery, and programs that are being developed or expanded for future release.
Foundations EMS Courses Available for Agency Scheduling
The following Foundations EMS Training courses have established course content and supporting materials.
Narcan Non-Responders
A focused overdose and toxicology course built around a critical field reality: naloxone is an important tool, but not every unconscious patient with slow breathing will respond as expected.
- Airway-first management of respiratory depression
- What naloxone can and cannot reverse
- Opioid mimics, polysubstance exposure, and emerging substances
- Toxidrome recognition using respiratory effort, pupils, mental status, skin findings, and scene clues
The Critical Circuit
A respiratory and airway course that helps providers identify the mechanism driving a patient's deterioration and select an intervention that matches the underlying physiology.
- Respiratory distress, failure, and impending arrest
- Systematic respiratory assessment and high-risk findings
- Positioning, suction, adjuncts, oxygen delivery, BVM, and two-person technique
- Intervention selection, troubleshooting, CPAP, and reassessment
Stay and Play or Grab and Go
A discussion-driven course on one of the most important prehospital decisions: when to remain on scene long enough to correct an immediate threat and when to prioritize rapid movement.
- On-scene stabilization versus rapid transport strategies
- Identifying the patient’s immediate pathway to death
- Balancing intervention benefit against transport delay
- Building concise handoffs that explain condition, response, and transport priority
Recognized Programs Available for Agency Scheduling

CEVO 5
CEVO 5 is an emergency-vehicle driver education offering focused on the knowledge, judgment, and defensive-driving habits needed to operate ambulances and other emergency vehicles safely.
- Driver responsibility, professional conduct, and emergency response operations
- Vehicle dynamics, braking distance, backing, turning, and space management
- Intersection approach, speed selection, and emergency warning device use
- Defensive observation, hazard anticipation, and preventable collision patterns
- Agency policy, vehicle inspection, crew communication, and safe arrival
Stop the Bleed
Stop the Bleed is a nationally recognized bleeding-control education program that teaches participants how to take immediate action during life-threatening hemorrhage before professional rescuers arrive.
- Recognition of life-threatening external bleeding
- Personal safety, emergency activation, and finding the bleeding source
- Firm direct pressure and wound packing when appropriate
- Correct tourniquet placement, tightening, reassessment, and common errors
- Confidence to act during the minutes before professional rescuers arrive

Foundations EMS Programs Being Built for Future Delivery

The MCI Masterclass Series
A multi-course series designed to strengthen EMS performance during mass-casualty incidents. The series develops command, rapid triage, critical-patient management, special-population decision-making, transport coordination, and full-system integration across progressive modules.
Safe Scene? Think Again.
An interactive scene-safety course that challenges the automatic phrase “BSI, scene safe.” Participants continuously evaluate whether they can safely enter, remain, treat, move, and leave as conditions change.
Hidden Damage
A trauma course centered on injuries providers cannot immediately see. It teaches EMTs to challenge first impressions, connect mechanism and physiology, and recognize subtle patients who are compensating before rapid deterioration becomes obvious.
Training That Can Fit the Agency
Courses may be scheduled as stand-alone educational programs or incorporated into a broader agency training relationship.
